CoRT® Thinking Course (Brief)


CoRT® is a direct, focused course in teaching thinking. It covers a wide aspect and aims are to broaden the perceptive ability and thinking ability of students. It also targets to enhance their creative thinking. The course includes the following areas:

  1. 1.broaden thinking ability

  2. ‣Help students to be able to perceive not just the superficial and immediate things but to broaden the perceptive ability by learning and practising Edward de Bono’s famous Attention Directing Tools.

  3. ‣Enable students to think in more directions to improve quality of decisions. Guide them to consider all factors before making decisions and consider the consequences of their actions to minimize mistakes.

  4. 2.Creativity training

  5. ‣Enable students to generate many more creative ideas by using Lateral Thinking™ tools -- the most famous arena of Edward de Bono.Train them to be able to change concepts and perception quickly. Train students to know how to choose the best ideas generated.

  6. 3.Enhancing thinking organization

  7. ‣Enhance students’ ability to identify the real problem, divide complicated tasks into smaller parts. Familiarize them with different thinking procedures.

  8. 4.Considering other people’s views

  9. ‣Cultivate an attitude to view both sides’ opinion instead of just criticizing.

  10. 5.Information and Emotions

  11. ‣Information and emotions exists in all thinking situations. We rely on information to think but our emotion influences the way we deal with information. The course aims to train students to handle information objectively. It also enhances their ability to find information needed.


Course Specially Designed for Students

Thinking is as important to adults as to secondary and primary students. That's why Dr de Bono specially developed a series of courses for students.

The courses for students will explain the tools and systems with very simple examples to let them understand. Students will learn to practise these tools by walking through interesting thinking tasks and activities.

These courses have been taught to students in many countries for over 15 years. In Singapore, over 30,000 students have been taught so far and the results are prominent.
